HousingLink is hiring a dedicated intern to do the following:
- E-Newsletters - Housing Connection (sent bi-weekly) and Landlord Link (sent monthly) are two vehicles we use to reach key stakeholders.
- Social Media - Create status updates on Facebook and tweet on Twitter to provide valuable content to our followers on social media.
- Presentations - Give presentations to landlords, renters, and social service agencies about HousingLink services and affordable housing programs in Minnesota.
- Community Meetings - Attend meetings in the community that will give you the opportunity to meet local professionals in the nonprofit, government, and for-profit rental housing sectors.
- Google Adwords - The intern will help maximize the in-kind Adwords donation from Google.
HousingLink will provide training on all of the above to ensure a successful and enjoyable internship experience. However, the ideal intern will already have some knowledge, skills, and/or experience related to the above tasks. The internship will also offer the opportunity to learn about affordable rental housing programs and how housing seekers connect to housing opportunities; while participating in the active Twin Cities affordable housing community.
Qualifications
- Excellent writing skills
- Superb public speaking ability (Don't let this scare you. The more you do it, the better you become)
- Proven ability to build good relationships
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and share good ideas
- Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office, Facebook, and Twitter
- Some familiarity with affordable housing programs and rental housing will help you succeed
