Resources in Dakota County
Matrix Resource Center
This program provides support to those who are experiencing homelessness and need access to computers, phones, printers, social workers, addiction support, veteran services, pet care, laundry, showers, haircuts, and much more. This program is also a support to the overnight emergency shelter so that guests have somewhere to go during the day. The hours are Mon-Fri 9:00 AM to 5:00PM. It is located in Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W County Road 42, Apple Valley.
Dakota County Crisis Line - (651) 554-5751
This is the main number to call for people experiencing homelessness and housing crisis in Dakota County. Staff refer to a variety of services including homeless prevention, shelter, and intervention resources.
Dakota Woodlands
Shelter for families and adult women. Access through the Housing Crisis Line (651) 554-5751. There is currently a waitlist.
Homeless Street Outreach - Ally Outreach Services (612) 875-9683.
Ally’s Outreach team should be contacted when someone is experiencing homelessness and is unsheltered (outside, vehicles, transit station, etc.). Ally is contracted by Dakota County to provide homeless outreach services. They provide a variety of services to people who are unsheltered such as survival gear, housing counseling, connection to financial benefits, mental health support, etc.
The Link - Youth households - 24 years and under
Youth experiencing homelessness can be connected to The Link by calling the Housing Crisis Line (651) 554-5751 and selecting the youth option. Youth can also stop by without appointment at the C.O.R.E. drop in center Mon – Fri 2- 5 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W County Road 42, Apple Valley.
The Link also provides outreach and information regarding if an Outreach Worker is working in a particular area on a particular day on on the YSNMN app (Youth Services Network MN – an application that serves as a resource to connect youth directly to beds, outreach workers, and other services.)
